Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe Review

Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe is Acuvue’s top-of-the-line daily contact lens, and I’ve been wearing it as my primary contact lens for several years. This review will cover the things I love and dislike about one of the most popular daily lenses available.

I’ll cover the pros and cons as well as the best ways to save money on these contacts since they can get a bit pricey.

Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe are daily disposable lenses, which means they should be discarded and replaced with a new lens every day. Unlike, the two-week Acuvue Oasys, these lenses are NOT approved for overnight or extended wear and should never be slept in or worn for more than a day at a time.

What makes Acuvue Oasys 1-Day Such A Popular Contact Lens?

As someone who has worn contact lenses for over a decade, I understand that the absolute most important factors are comfort and health/safety.

Acuvue Oasys 1-Day contacts are made from senofilcon A, which is a silicone hydrogel material. A clinical study found that contact lenses made from this were associated with “reduction in discomfort, dryness, and other commonly reported problems associated with contact lens wear.” I like the sound of that.

Like I mentioned earlier, I have been wearing these lenses for years and have been very happy with them. I would be lying if they didn’t start to feel noticeable and slightly dry at the end of a long day of staring at my computer.

One thing that I have noticed, however, is that even after a long day of wear, I can still remove them easily. I’ve had experiences with other brands (I test a lot of different lenses) where they begin to feel dry and are harder to remove the longer they are in the eye. I’ve never had that issue with these.

Finally, when it comes to the health of your eyes, daily disposable lenses are typically better because it eliminates the risk of improper cleaning and storage. With 2-week or monthly lenses, you have to make sure you clean the lenses thoroughly and store them in a clean case to avoid infection.

With these, you just toss them in the garbage.

Are These Contact Lenses Available As 2 Week Lenses?

Yes! Acuvue Oasys 2-week contacts are the bi-weekly alternative to the daily lenses. The tradeoff with daily lenses is that they cost more, but you’ll get the convenience of not having to clean the contacts or keep track of your wearing schedule.

Is 1-day Acuvue Oasys Available for Astigmatism?

Yes! Acuvue Oasys 1-Day for Astigmatism is the same product with correction for astigmatism!

Astigmatism is caused by a condition where the cornea is not equally curved in all parts of its surface, causing the visual image to blur. Contacts for astigmatism, also known as toric lenses, are specifically designed to correct for this.

How Much Do Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe Cost

A 90-pack of these contacts usually runs between $89 and $120 depending on where you buy them.

If you wear these contacts in both eyes, you’ll need about 4 boxes for each eye, or 8 boxes total. This will cost you between $712 and $960 before an Acuvue Oasys 1 Day rebate. That comes out to between $1.97 and $2.67 per day.

The price for Acuvue Oasys 2-week lenses comes out to between $0.80 and $1.22 per day.

As the price suggests, 1 Day Acuvue Oasys contacts are a premium contact lens. There’s no way around that. If you want Acuvue’s top-of-the-line contact lens, you’ll be paying a premium for it.

There’s a reason they are my primary contact lens, and that’s because I find them extremely comfortable, and I love the convenience of not having to clean them.

Here’s What Existing Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe Customers Think About Them

Francisco M. from Chicago says: “I’ve tried other brands but always come back to Acuvue Oasys 1 Day contacts because they are the most comfortable over a long workday. Other brands just start to feel like I have a potato chip in my eye by the afternoon. Yes, it’d be nice if they were less expensive, but I always try to buy an annual supply so I can take advantage of the Acuvue Rewards rebate program.”

Katrina P. from Florida says: “Once I switched to this brand I had less dry eye. Although I hate the waste associated with dailies, they do work well for my eyes. I also see so clear in these”

Reanna M. says: “These contact lenses are amazing. So much better than acuvue moist. They are definitely pricey tho. I use these more than the moist. I just wish they weren’t so expensive. I would definitely recommend these.”

Julie N. from Michigan says: “I much prefer these contact lenses over their regular Acuvue Oasys daily contact lenses! These ones dry far less quickly during the day of wearing them. They generally feel about the same texture as their other Acuvue Oasys daily contact lenses, but far softer than their 2-Week contact lenses.”

Is this an excellent contact lens for you?

If you want a high-quality or premium daily contact lens, it’s hard to argue against Acuvue Oasys 1 Day with HydraLuxe. They’ve been a market leader in the premium daily contact lens segment for years and have passed the test of time.

My only concerns with this lens are the high price and the fact that daily lenses are less environmentally friendly. With regards to price, other premium lenses in the category are similarly priced.

If you already wear these lenses and are looking for an alternative, other great options are Dailies Total 1 and Bausch & Lomb Infuse Daily.
